Dr. Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan have published some incredible books. Their next book is one that I've anxiously been waiting for, "10X Is Easier Than 2X: How World-Class Entrepreneurs Achieve More By Doing Less."
I recently received a package in the mail from Benjamin Hardy and I'm fortunate enough that included in that package was a pre-release copy of "10X is Easier Than 2X!"
I can wholeheartedly say that this book is a must-read for anyone looking to achieve massive success and make a lasting impact in their lives.
One of the key takeaways from this book is that once people understand what it takes, many are afraid to fully commit to the 10X process because it requires letting go of their current identity, circumstances, and most important, their comfort zone. However, going 10X means being able to live the most exciting future one can imagine. Once you commit to it, that 10X future becomes the filter for everything you do, and most of your current life won't make it through that 10X filer. In other words, as Dan Sullivan says, "what got you here won't get you there."
10X isn't about doing more; it's about achieving more by doing less. In the book they focus a lot on the 80/20 principle. Having a 10X mindset means that you understand that to accomplish more, you actually have to do and focus on less. You need to define your 20%, which is your unique ability, and give it your 100%.
By simplifying your focus down to the core essentials, you can remove everything else that is holding you back. Every time you go 10x, you consciously choose to live your life at a particular level or standard, no matter how abnormal or seemingly impossible it may seem. You must be willing to let go of everything that isn't 10x.
The authors suggest that we need to set "impossible goals." Once you make your goals impossible, you'll stop operating based on your current assumptions and knowledge and be open to new ideas. Setting seemingly impossible goals are more practical than possible goals because impossible goals force you outside your current level of knowledge and assumptions. You'll have to read the book to fully understand this concept, but admittedly, this caused me to have some questions about the concept. But one of the things that I loved about the book was that any time I found myself questioning something, the answer soon followed. Often the answer came through a reference to one of their other books (The Gap and The Gain, or Who Not How)
For example, they explain the concept of The Gap and The Gain, which is about measuring yourself backward against where and who you were before, instead of constantly measuring yourself against unreachable ideals. Being in The Gain enables you to effectively measure your progress and transform every experience you have into greater learning, meaning, and growth. It pulled the concept of Impossible Goals together for me.
"10X is Easier Than 2X" is an incredible book that will challenge you to rethink your approach to your success and achievement. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for the secret to achieve massive success in their personal and professional lives. Click on the link below to pre-order your copy!
